Who cares? I’d eat the American flag if it were cake.

I will fuck you in your mouth you anti-American son of a bitch! That flag is the reason faggots like you are allowed to continue on being mother fuckers in public. You need to respect it or ge the FUCK out. See you in hell!

I have to agree with F.E. who gives a fuck, and Irish, I’m guessing you have never done anything more to serve your country than be a internet tuff guy so fuck off.

Irish-
You should probably know your History before you say that the flag is “the reason why we are here”. Not true in the least bit, it is just a symbol. That’s it. There are kits at fabric stores that help you make this sacred object of yours. You probably think that the constitution was written so “the people” rule….Wrong! Our framers were terrified of “the people” taking over, probably because there are people like you in the United States.

The quotes mean Irish said those exact words but I don’t see where he said “the reason why we are here” anywhere. And what do terrified farmers have to do with our flag. Maybe you should study history because your view is twisted. No one was terrified of “the people” they were all “the people”.

So what. It’s a flag. Maybe people should stop obsessing about paying respects to ornaments and worry about real problems for a change. Anyway I feel that the whole idea of patriotism is a bit idiotic. Globalisation has happened. It’s not just USA or China or France or whatever. It’s the world.

Oh, come on, he was just about to do his Michael Jackson routine, but they played the wrong song. He realized it would be seen as weak and indecisive if he all of a sudden changed his mind, so he stayed the course, no matter the cost.
And that’s the kind of President we need for the upcoming war against… well, I don’t know, guess somebody evil and undemocratic. Extraterrestrial not excluded.

I think “paying respect” to an object is strange. What matters is that one respects their society/community and it’s people.

Alright honestly I don’t know what the fuss is about his pose. I mean respect the Flag or not is completely a different issue. He is not having his hands in his pocket or having his sight wrong or some other pose that says he doesn’t care. His is a very legitimate pose which conveys respect in many different cultures as well. The Second Guy has one finger inside his top, and isn’t even standing in attention, its a stand at ease pose. Well third has no issues, duh she was probably well trained by Bill back home. The fourth has her hand over her breast, holding something in her other hand and her eye sight ain’t straight. So again who really is being disrespectful, not Obama in my opinion.

I think you’re all missing the point. They’re saying the pledge of allegiance, and when you pledge your allegiance you place your right hand over your heart to symbolize your commitment to that pledge. And when you say that pledge, what are you pledging your allegiance too? The flag of the United States of America. I think anyone who wants to be President owes us that much.

Dear Footage: They are not saying the “Pledge of Allegiance,” they are listening to the “Star Spangled Banner.” This matter has already been resolved on most national news stations.

Best wishes.

Asheboeh: In the U.S. it’s customary to place your hand over your heart and stand during the National Anthem. If Obama didn’t stand and put his hand over his heart at a Nascar race, a basketball game, or a rodeo, he’d get the shit kicked out him.

Please do a fact check next time you try to write a topic like this. When I hear the National Anthem I don’t place my hand on my heart, I stand at attention and place my hands behind my back. Like a lot of true blooded patriotic Americans. It’s not disrespectful to the flag at all, because this is not the Pledge of Allegiance, which everyone should place their hands on their heart. Barack Obama has been seen numerous times with his hand on his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance. Don’t believe me? Should of turned on C-SPAN when he lead the Senate in the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ many times. This picture was taken during the Nation Anthem not the Pledge of Allegiance. Your picture is worth a thousand words though, because he is just like any other American, and stands at attention rather than with his hand on his heart. Thanks.

Well Tyler, do me a favor and show me where in my post I said anything about the Pledge of Allegiance or National Anthem. No fact checking necessary.

Whether it’s the National Anthem or the Pledge of Allegiance it’s customary to place one’s right hand over their heart and during the Anthem if you’re wearing a hat you take that off and place it over your heart. Regardless, when you’re running for president and all the other candidates put their hand over their heart, you do it too if you’re smart.
