Fast Electric Car Not an Oxymoron

This electric car is phenomenal. The Hybrid Technologies L1X-75 has 600 horsepower, a zero to 60 time of 3.1 seconds, and can smoke the tires, unlike any electric car you’ve ever seen. It has a range of 200 miles and is fully charged in about 4.5 hours.

Just to get the jump on any naysayers, yeah, I realize it costs $125,000 and isn’t practical for shuttling the kids to school and bringing home the groceries, and there aren’t a lot of handy places to charge it up, so you’re pretty much limited to 200 mile round trips, but all of that is beside the point. The point is that someone has managed to create an electric car engine that produces 600 horsepower, which is about twice as much as most gasoline-powered cars on the road, and an exciting advancement.

Some of you will probably want to point out that this car isn’t really green because fossil fuel is used to create the electricity necessary to charge the batteries. But, permit me to point out that it takes less fuel to create enough electricity for this car to drive 200 miles than it does to power a gasoline engine for the same distance. There are also alternative methods to generate electricity, like solar power. Imagine a day when we all drive around in super quick cars that make very little noise, zero pollution, and run on energy produced by the sun.

that beast is sexy as hell. And about those sun powered cars; governements around the world don’t want that to happen, otherwise they’d have to tax us for the sun. I agree peoples in UK would be exonerated since the sun never shows up there.
