I don’t think anyone has too much sympathy for telemarketers (get a real job) and most of us have ways of dealing with them. Some people just hang up on them, but unfortunately, others actually talk to them and that’s the reason they exist. If telemarketing wasn’t an effective sales tool we wouldn’t have to deal with the problem in the first place.

My favorite technique is to ask them to hold on and then put down the phone and wait until they get tired of waiting and hang up, but this guy came up with the best one I’ve heard yet.
