Moonlighting at Chili’s

shrek chilis restaurant logoI took the family to see Shrek 3 and then to Chili’s for dinner last night. About halfway through the dinner, one of my daughters needed to use the restroom and since it was on the opposite side of the restaurant and she’s only nine, I followed slightly behind. She likes to feel grown up, so I stayed far enough behind that she didn’t notice, but I was still able to keep her in eyesight until she reached the restroom.

The way it worked out, I ended up standing near the front door. After a few minutes a young couple walked in. The hostess wasn’t nearby and I was feeling a little mischievous, so I grabbed two menus and asked, “Two for dinner?” They nodded, so I said, “Right this way” and led them to an empty table. After they sat down I handed them the menus and told them their waiter would be right with them.

Shortly, my daughter returned from the restroom and we sat down to finish our meal. When we left, I noticed the couple still hadn’t been waited on. Now that I think about it, I guess I was supposed to add them to the seating chart. D’oh. I’m such an ogre.

That’s awesome! HAHA!

Our phone number is almost the same as Pizza Hut’s phone number just down the road. Whenever someone calls and says “Is this Pizza Hut?”, I always say yes and take their order. I tell them it will be ready in about 30 mins…. that’s pretty mean huh?
