Popsicles May Reduce Swelling But Won’t Prevent Death

popsiclesEbony Thorne, a 24-year old Texas woman, placed a Popsicle on her 2-year old son’s head and put him to bed after he fell down a stairwell. She didn’t call 9-1-1.

When the boy’s father got home, he found the boy unresponsive and called his mother, but he didn’t call 9-1-1 either.

The boy’s grandmother drove to the couple’s apartment to check on the boy. She called 9-1-1.

The boy died.

Thorne has been charged with injury to a child by omission/criminal negligence. Her 3-year old son and 10-month old daughter have been returned to their grandmother who already had custody of the three children because… oh, I don’t know… maybe because her daughter and husband were fucking unfit parents?

Since we unfortunately do not require people to pass a test before becoming parents, here are a few tips and a suggestion for those among you that shouldn’t have had kids in the first place.

Putting a Popsicle on your kid’s head after he bumps it is not the same thing as putting ice on it.

Putting ice on your kid’s head after he fall’s down the stairs is not the same thing as calling 9-1-1.

Being a whore and popping out a kid every year is not the same thing as being a mother.

If these simple instructions are beyond your comprehension, do your kids and the world a favor and shove a Popsicle stick into your ear as far as it will go.

I’m really sad that the little boy died and I agree with most of what you have posted here, but I have to speak up and take offense at the very last tip you gave.

I know a lot more “whores” who don’t have ANY kids at all, so to say that someone who either has a lot of kids or had a few in close succession is a whore makes me want to pee on your head. Yeah, that angry. LOL

I have six and the first 3 were all a year apart. And, daughter #2 fell down a stairwell when she was a year old. I wasn’t much older than the woman in this tragic story but I obviously had more common sense as that kid is 13 now.

Now, shall I tell YOU where you can shove your popsicle?

:-)

The whores know who they are and my comment was referencing women like this that don’t have the brains to use contraceptives when they don’t really want the kids in the first place. Thankfully for your kids you apparently wanted them.

I must admit that I find the peeing on my head thing oddly arousing in a kinky sort of way, though.

I call it natural selection. The kid obviously didnt have as hard a head as i did when i fell down the stairs at his age lol.

I think you miss a major point in this story… why didn’t the mother or father call 911? Yes, perhaps they are not the greatest parents… but perhaps also they are poor and hesitated fearing the cost of an ambulance ride, and medical treatment. Not trying to pump up Micheal Moore’s “Sicko”… but too many of us put off having medical concerns taken care of for fear of the cost… all too often even when are insured.

Polliwog: It’s people like you that make me wish the internet required a reading comprehension test.

yo who says shes poppin out children every year? why you changin the story?
what would you have honestly in tht situation, kids fall down stairs all the time,
and the guilt alone would have killed the parent on the inside anyways, as a child my mother never even thought to bring me to the hospital when i fell down the stairs, your all just spoiled i thinkk if your gonna bitch about one accident you here.
like its not like the kid was bleeding from the ears the mother just set it in the bed popped a popsicle in its mouth and walked off yo.

she prob felt bad for the kid fallen down the stairs, gave the kid a popsicle to make it feel better but sadly the fucking kid died from other causes.

–dreadman, nope they were stupid and ignorant bad parents. hasn’t anyone else noticed that the 23-25 year olds who have kids right now are the worst parents you’ve ever seen. 90% of the time they pawn th kids off on their grandparents and the rest of the time they have them attached to leashes so they don’t run around the bar.

Dreadman - So, it’s the government’s fault, not the parents? C’mon man. If you’re kid falls 8 feet down a stairwell and is unconcious and unresponsive, you take him to the hospital and worry about paying for it later. Period.

Keifer - Since she has a 10-month old, a 2-year old and a 3-year old, anyone who isn’t math challenged would say that’s one a year.

And she didn’t stick a popsicle in the kid’s mouth, yo, she put it on his head to reduce the swelling.

For those of you that missed it, the grandmother had previous custody of all three children. That means that the court had taken the kids away from the parents and given them to the grandmother to raise. Obviously the parents had already been deemed unfit before this poor little boy fell down the stairs and his mother was too ignorant or selfish to do the right thing.
