Bankruptcy Protects Church from Scandal
The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego distributed a letter to parishioners in the regular weekly bulletin last weekend informing them that they are considering declaring bankruptcy. Bishop Robert Brom says they may have no choice if they can’t reach a fair settlement before going to trial on more than 140 cases of alleged sexual abuse by priests.

This tactic of filing for bankruptcy to avoid sex abuse scandal has been used four times by other diocese already and has nothing to do with financial difficulties. According to attorney Andrea Leavitt, the San Diego diocese is very wealthy and owns over 500 pieces of property and lots of insurance.
Now let’s hear from the pious fucks that speak for the church.
“Our culture is superior. Our culture is superior because our religion is Christianity and that is the truth that makes men free.” - Pat Buchanan
Apparently it’s also the truth that sets pedophile priests free.
“Planned parenthood is teaching kids to fornicate, teaching people to have adultery, every kind of bestiality, homosexuality, lesbianism – everything that the Bible condemns.” - Pat Robertson
Planned priesthood is teaching priests to fornicate with young boys. Does the Bible condemn that?
“Sex education classes in our public schools are promoting incest.” - Jimmy Swaggart
Too bad they aren’t teaching children to tell their priests to fuck off and die when they try to have sex with them.
“We’re fighting against humanism, we’re fighting against liberalism…we are fighting against all the systems of Satan that are destroying our nation today…our battle is with Satan himself.” - Jerry Falwell
Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of priests are losing the battle with Satan, so how the hell do the rest of us stand a chance?
Hey, here’s an idea. Why not just allow Catholic priests to get married? Celibacy obviously isn’t working out the way it was intended and any man that can go without sex for his entire life must have something a little wrong upstairs.
Here are a few interesting statistics:
An estimated 10,000 clergy-abuse lawsuits have been filed nationwide since 2002. More than 800 cases were filed in California.
The U.S. Catholic Church has paid an estimated $1 billion in jury verdicts and settlement agreements in priest-abuse cases since 1950, according to The Associated Press.
There are only 276 priests in San Diego and yet almost 150 abuse allegations.

While I thought your article was interesting . . . it carried no credibility as the people you quoted - Pat Buchanan, Pat Robertson, Jimmy Swaggart, Jerry Falwell . . . are Evangelical Christians and not Catholics. It appears to me that the quotes you used are out of context in relationship to the Article you wrote. However, you obviously do have an interest in faith which is goo . . . perhaps Christ is calling you. My prayer is that you investigate who God is through the works of his son Jesus . . . how wonderfully accurate your blog would be then and I imagine your readership would increase.
Peace be with you -

Your comment is typical and intended to obfuscate the point. It matters not whether they are Catholics, Baptists, Methodists or Episcopalians, they are all supposed to be Christians. None of them act like it.
Are you condoning Catholic priests having sex with young boys? If not, what’s your point?
My readership would increase if I turned my blog into a religious pile of crap? ummm… I think not.
